Saintly and surreal are two words that can be used to describe Clouet's poster for the British bicycle maker, Humber. Basking in the heavenly glow of emancipation and surrounded by the disembodied, yet fashionable, cherub winged visages of women now freed from the shackles of supervision, this fortunate lady appears to have been swept off to Cloud Nine with her Humber. A spectacular overstatement for the liberating potential of the now common bicycle.
