| A convivial scene in a little cafe, depicted in fine illustrative style by a skilled designer-lithographer. The aperitif is Quina Marra - "quina" (sometimes "quinquina") being a generic designation for all alcoholic beverages containing quinine. Tamagno makes no bones about the lustful gleam in the man's eyes, but note who's doing the pouring. The text at the bottom of the poster, "I drink Marra to stay beautiful, and I drink it for my health, too," is in a southern dialect from around the region where the aperitif is made. | |
